Approaches to Writing - Phase 7: The Final
Destination
The Final Destination

You have arrived at your final destination. Turn off your engines and bask in the success of having completed the Main Journey. If you have understood the seven phases and completed the assignments, you have just produced one of the finest argumentative research papers you have ever written. What happens next? Is there a Phase 8?

No, the journey of completing the argumentative research paper ends here. Now, your research paper is ready for another journey, that of going before a wide audience of readers--fellow scholars, teachers, students, and other interested parties--who are compelled to read what you have to say. The next journey is "publication," in one form or another.

In the future, examples of research papers from English 101 may be published here in an online "Portfolio of Student Writing." You will also consider submitting your paper to Web sites related to your topic or to school newspapers or other literary magazines.

Please let Kenn know if you are interested in sharing your argumentative research paper with future English 101 students. If you are, then we will journey together again. If not, we will say farewell at this point. Good luck . . . and may you have success in all future writing journeys.

Where do I go next?
Confidently forward in your career as a college writer . . . and beyond!
