Approaches to Writing - Phase 7: Writing Group
Feedback: Second Version
Writing Partner Feedback: Second Version to Final Version

Back in Phase 6, you sent your writing partner, via e-mail, a copy of your Paper: Second Version (Assignment 6A). Your writing partner will now read the second version of your paper and send feedback to you via e-mail. That feedback--along with Kenn's feedback--will be required for you to complete Assignment 7A, Paper: Final Version.

Of course, you must also provide feedback to your writing partner on his/her Paper: Second Version submission. Once you have received a submission from a writing partner, read it, and then respond via e-mail with feedback.

Consider each of the following (and please identify specific paragraphs or sentences in the paper for the writer's benefit):

  1. Where are the writer's sentences effectively structured? Ineffectively structured? Why?

  2. Where do you become distracted by grammatical errors?

  3. Where do you become distracted by mechanical errors (errors in punctuation, spelling, capitalization, italics, etc.)

  4. How would you describe the writer's style? Where does the style seem effective? Ineffective?

  5. Where is the citation information unclear, inaccurate, or missing (parenthetical reference information or Works Cited entries)?

  6. Comment on any other editorial aspects of the writing that seem noteworthy, such as diction, tone, voice, etc.

Any questions or comments for Kenn?

Where do I go next?
After receiving feedback from Kenn and your writing partner, proceed to "Assignment 7A."
