Collecting a Relevant Article

For Assignment 2C, you will need to collect four articles that directly relate to, or are relevant to, your Research Paper Question. Try to locate articles that represent a variety of viewpoints.

To be absolutely sure whether an article is "relevant," you need to locate the article and read it. To save some time, though, you can locate relevant articles by looking at lists of article titles. How you find these lists depends on whether you're looking in a traditional print index or in a computerized database of articles.

It's time, then, to learn how how to track down articles through both "old-fashioned" and new computerized methods. Review each of the methods below so you can find four exceptionally good articles relate to your Research Paper Question:

After retrieving your articles, skim them to see whether they are truly relevant to your Question. If they are, keep copies of them and record the full publishing information for your Works Cited page in the next assignment.
