Approaches to Writing - Assignment 2C
Assignment 2C - MLA Works Cited Format: Articles
(Estimated Completion Time: 30 - 60 minutes)

What is the assignment?

First, read pp.149-62 in the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers (5th ed.) to learn proper format for listing periodical articles on a Works Cited page. Read pp. 186-90 to learn proper format for listing articles from an online periodical. Finally, read pp. 195-96 to learn proper format for listing articles accessed through an online service (such as ProQuest Direct or SIRS Researcher databases).

To demonstrate your understanding of MLA Works Cited format for articles, locate four articles related to your Research Paper Question and list them in proper format on a Works Cited page. These should be the four most promising articles you located throughout Phase 2 (review the pages beginning with "MLA Works Cited Format: Articles").

When is it due? See the Calendar for the due date.
How do I submit the assignment?

Submit your Works Cited page to Kenn via WebCT e-mail, as an attachment (see "Submitting/Reading an Attachment" for instructions on how to submit assignments via e-mail). Use MLA paper format for your submission (standard margins, header, etc.) and simply title your document, Works Cited.

Any final suggestions? Read the "Scoring Criteria" and "Helpful Hints" before submitting this assignment.
