What is the assignment?	Based on feedback from Kenn and your writing partner, revise your argumentative research paper. Make large-scale changes that will make your ideas better developed and more convincing to your readers, such as any of the following: add more main points to your existing main points, or replace weak main points with stronger new ones add more subpoints to help develop your existing main points add more evidence or logical explanations to support your existing subpoints and main points rearrange the order of your main points, subpoints, or evidence/logical explanations rearrange or reword paragraphs or sentences for effectiveness add background information on your topic in a new background section following your introduction expand and "energize" your introduction and conclusion NOTE: DO NOT concern yourself with smaller editing concerns, such as grammar, punctuation, mechanics, spelling, style, diction, etc. Even though the Final Version of your research paper will be 8 - 10 pages long, your Second Version will probably be only 7 - 8 pages, including the Works Cited page. It is understood that your main points, subpoints, and supporting evidence and/or logical explanations will be further developed for the final version of the paper. NOTE: There is no maximum page limit on your Second Version.

How do I submit the assignment?	Submit your Paper: First Version to Kenn via WebCT e-mail, as an attachment (see "Submitting/Reading an Attachment" for instructions on how to submit assignments via e-mail). Use MLA paper format for your submission (standard margins, header, etc.) and give your paper a title that reflects your tentative thesis statement (for example: No Tolerance for Gangs: Parents Who Care--Second Version). Also submit your paper to your designated writing partner.

How do I revise the first version of a paper into a second version?	Try any of the following writing, research, or reading activities, each of which has been designed to help you to revise your first version into a subsequent version. You are NOT required to try all of the activities, but you ARE required to review them all and try at least one that looks promising.
