Research Paper: Final Version
Assignment 7B - Argumentative Research Paper: Final Version
(Estimated Completion Time: 3 - 5 hours)
What is the assignment? Based on your Editing Plan for Paper: Final Version, edit your argumentative research paper. Make small-scale changes that will improve the readibility and delivery of your ideas, such as any of the following:

  • restructure your sentences

  • correct any grammatical errors

  • correct any mechanical errors (errors in punctuation, spelling, italics, capitalization, etc.)

  • eliminate repetitious ideas and wordiness

  • reword language to improve diction

  • reword language to clarify tone and establish voice

  • provide missing information in parenthetical references or on the Works Cited page

  • correct inaccurate information in parenthetical references or on the Works Cited page

Your Paper: Final Version will be 8 - 10 pages long, including the Works Cited page. NOTE: There is no maximum page limit.

How do I submit the assignment? Submit your Paper: First Version to Kenn via e-mail, as an attachment (see "Submitting/Reading an Attachment" for instructions on how to submit assignments via e-mail). Use MLA paper format for your submission (standard margins, header, etc.) and give your paper a title that reflects your tentative thesis statement (for example: No Tolerance for Gangs: Parents Who Care--Final Version).
When is it due? See Calendar for the due date.
Example of an argumentative research paper (final version) "Guided into a Disaster," by Ryan Primosch.
How do I edit the second version of a paper into a final version? Try any of the following writing, research, or reading activities, each of which has been designed to help you to revise your second version into a final version. You are NOT required to try all of the activities, but you ARE required to review them all and try at least one that looks promising. Later, you will report to the Course Chat Room how well your chosen activity worked.

Any final suggestions? Read the "Scoring Criteria" and "Helpful Hints" before submitting this assignment.
A friendly reminder One weekly posting to the Course Chat Room is required. If you have not yet contributed to the Course Chat Room during Phase 7, consider posting a message now in response to the thread entitled, "Phase 7 Writing, Research, Reading Activities: What Helped?"
Any questions or comments for Kenn?
